8-11-14 Update
Message to Alumni Choir
Hello Everyone,
The concert is just around the corner! Dr. Shalley’s name, being cast in shiny letters, is getting ready to be set in place for the entire community to see as they enter the performing arts center. Names of alumni are still coming in and the stage is being set for a fun weekend of singing. There is still time to join us!
Dedication and Concert:
The dedication of the Dr. Regis V. Shalley Performing Arts Center will start at 7:00p.m. in the lobby area followed by the Alumni Choir Concert scheduled to start immediately after (which will end-up around 7:30). The concert will last a little longer than an hour. Attire is black and/white.
Food: Deadline= this Friday, Aug. 15th
Many of you have replied with your intentions regarding the lunch and dinner on August 30th. If there are any changes to your status, we have set a deadline for Friday, August 15th. (Email: ktranter@bwschools.net). Thank you Renee Stockey for handling the food and logistics!
Updated Repertoire List
Please look at the updated song list to make sure you’re not practicing songs that may have been changed. They have also been updated on the website.
Alumni Choir
Small Group
Current/Just-Graduated Highlander Choir & Baldwinaires
Please practice your music. Remember that an hour each day of the week is better than 7 hours on the Thursday before the concert. It will be better to prepare your voice and build some stamina for this concert working daily rather than all day on one day of the week. You can do it!
Band Alumni
Former members of the marching band are performing a few songs at the Friday night football game. Any former band members who would like to sing in the alumni concert can miss the Friday choir rehearsal to attend the band performance.
Dressing Rooms
For those of you who are from out of town or who are too far from the high school to leave between the concert and the rehearsal, we will have dressing rooms available for you to hang your concert attire (any combination of black and/or white). The choir room will be available as a make-shift “lounge.”
Concert Staging & Rehearsal
Following the dedication part of the evening, the choir members will be directed to take their place on the stage via the back hallway. For rehearsals and the concert, we will have risers with chairs on the stage. The repertoire and order of the concert selections has been designed for seated breaks for choir members. A bottle of water will be provided for each choir member.
Thank you everyone. We'll see you soon!
